Training Center.

Academi_logo

Founded in the year 1998 by former Navy Seals, Blackwater Worldwide talks it has trained thousands of security personnel to work in hot spots across the globe. The company, now called Xe Services, was once the United States’ go-to contractor in Afghanistan and Iraq. It has been under forceful scrutiny since 2007, when Blackwater guards were accused of killing many civilians in Nisour Square in Baghdad. The company and its executives and personnel have faced criminal charges, civil lawsuits, and Congressional investigations surrounding accusations of murder and bribery. In April 2010, centralized prosecutors announced weapons charges against five former senior Blackwater executives, entailing its former president, Erik D. Prince.

2008-12-11-blackwater8301x274-300x273On the other hand, nearly four years after the federal government began a string of careful investigations and criminal prosecutions against company personnel, the cases began to fall apart, loaded by lawful obstacles including the difficulties of attaining evidence in war zones, of gaining appropriate jurisdiction for prosecutions in American civilian courts, and of overcoming protection deals given to defendants by American officials. Blackwater USA was created in 1997, by Erik Prince in North Carolina, to give training support to military and law enforcement organizations. He spent part of his inherited wealth to acquire about 6,000 acres (24 km2) of the Great Dismal Swamp, a huge swamp on the North Carolina/Virginia border, now mostly a National Wildlife Refuge. There he crafted his state-of-the-art private training facility, and his contracting company, Blackwater, which he named for the peat-colored water of the swamp. In 2002 Blackwater Security Consulting (BSC) was formed. It was one of the several private security firms employed following the U.S. assault of Afghanistan. BSC is one of the over 60 private security firms employed during the Iraq War to lookout officials and installations, train Iraq’s new army and police, and provide other support for occupation forces. Blackwater was also hired during the consequences of Hurricane Katrina by the United States Department of Homeland Security, and also as by private clients, entailing communications, petrochemical and insurance companies. Generally, the company has attained over $1 billion USD in U.S. government contracts. Blackwater consists of nine divisions, and an auxiliary, Blackwater Vehicles.
